Position: Extendicare Nutrition Specialist Role

Shape the nutritional health of residents as a Registered Dietitian with Extendicare, focusing on personalized care and dietary education. This part-time role emphasizes comprehensive nutritional assessments and interventions.

You’ll be responsible for crafting nutrition plans, monitoring residents at risk, and ensuring documentation aligns with regulatory standards. Your involvement will support both residents and their caregivers, providing education to foster better health outcomes. Collaborate within a dynamic interdisciplinary team to elevate resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct nutrition assessments on admission and annually

• Generate and modify individualized nutrition plans

• Train staff on dietary protocols and best practices

• Oversee diet options, including modified textures

• Participate in care conferences and committees

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Food and Nutrition from an accredited institution

• 1-2 years in community or long-term care settings

• Registered with the appropriate college of dietitians

• Effective communication and critical thinking abilities

• Familiarity with health care regulations and documentation
