Combined Laboratory / X-Ray Technologist II

Help clinicians and patients diagnose and manage disease in Alberta Precision Laboratories’ (APL’s) busy rural communities by joining our South Zone team. Here you will be responsible for using advanced technical skills and judgement to assist South Zone Rural Lab site supervisors with development and implementation of diagnostic processes, procedures in conjunction with Pathologists and laboratory managers.

You’re an analytical, organized lab technologist who works well under pressure and will support lab administration duties to include testing, staffing, training and feedback, quality control programs, scheduling, costing and ordering supplies as needed.

This position is responsible for identifying results, issues, or situations that require escalation to the Clinical Supervisor, Manager, Director, Clinical Chemists, or Pathologists. The role will primarily support laboratory processes within Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Specimen Pre- and Post-Analytics, while also contributing to other laboratory areas as required.

As an excellent problem-solver, you can adapt, prioritize, and manage your time while ensuring lab and organizational policy compliance, including quality control and quality assurance procedures. You will contribute to a positive, respectful, and patient-oriented workplace independently and as part of the Rural Support team.

Make a difference in the South Zone Rural Communities as you help healthcare professionals and patients get the information that they need to improve, optimize, or maintain health.

This position is available at either Medicine Hat Regional Hospital or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
