In this role, you help clinicians and patients get the information they need to get a correct diagnosis, and restore, maintain, or optimize health. You’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of routine and specialized tests, including daily processing, testing, resulting, and reporting of diagnostic samples.

Taber Health Centre Laboratory is located within the Taber Health Centre and services this Southern Alberta City as well as its surrounding areas. The location is staffed with a strong team of laboratory professionals that offer strong, patient-focused service to their community. Taber Alberta is located approx. 50 kilometers east of Lethbridge and 260 kilometers southeast of Calgary. Taber is a beautiful town that is known as the Corn Capital of Canada due to the large amount of sunshine in the area.

Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Excellent phlebotomy skills, strong technical skills, and adaptability are imperative in this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Connect Care, as well as recent phlebotomy and bench experience are an asset.
