About the University

At the University of Lethbridge, we speak in perspectives.

We are located in the heart of traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory in southern Alberta with campuses in Lethbridge and Calgary. ULethbridge is more than a place to learn — it’s a place to build a career and make a lasting impact. We are one of Canada’s top universities and leading research institutions with more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students. We are an inclusive university that values diverse experiences and backgrounds.

Our people are our greatest strength, and we are dedicated to fostering growth and success for all of our people.

Together, We Shape Tomorrow

The Future Systems and Processes ( FSP ) program is a multi-year initiative to modernize the university’s finance, human resource, and student information processes and systems ( ERP / SIS ) and facilitate the adoption and successful implementation of a next-generation platform for long-term operational excellence that best supports our diverse community.

As we create the capacity to support the program, some postings will be for roles within the project itself, while others will be hired to fulfill operational responsibilities so that experienced professionals can focus on planning and implementing the critical improvements that this program will deliver.

The backfill positions, along with FSP program-specific positions, are funded entirely through dedicated project reserves, underscoring our commitment to responsible financial stewardship and long-term planning.

The Finance System Implementation Manager will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to support the modernization, integration, and implementation of finance modules as part of a larger enterprise resource planning ( ERP ) implementation project. This role will contribute to improving operational efficiency and productivity, strengthening internal controls, and advancing Financial Services’ strategic and operational objectives.

This is a full-time continuing position reporting to the Director, Financial Systems Support & Development, with a start date as soon as possible.

Primary duties and responsibilities include working closely with ERP modernization and implementation project teams while representing Financial Services in the following key areas:

  • Supporting project planning activities, including the development of finance project timelines, resource allocation plans, and project deliverables to ensure work is completed on time and within scope; providing leadership and guidance to Finance employees involved in ERP implementation activities, as required.
  • Analyzing finance processes, requirements, and workflows to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement; collaborating with finance stakeholders to redesign and optimize processes that align with the capabilities of a modernized ERP system.
  • Coordinating with Information Technology teams, external vendors, and technical consultants to configure financial modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Asset Management) and ensure seamless integration with new and existing systems.
  • Overseeing financial data management activities, including data cleanup, retention planning, and data migration, while ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy throughout the transition.
  • Coordinating system testing and quality assurance activities to ensure implemented solutions meet business requirements, operational needs, and compliance standards.
  • Leading the development and delivery of training materials and user training programs; providing regular project updates; communicating project impacts, decisions, and changes; and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the implementation process.
  • The incumbent will serve as a change agent and key member of the project team, supporting organizational readiness and user adoption of finance systems while building and maintaining strong working relationships with finance leadership, project collaborators, system user groups, and…
