Summer Student Painter

Position Overview

The University of Lethbridge Building Maintenance Department is looking for workers with painting and general building maintenance experience to work as Painters from May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026.

• Painting common corridors, classrooms, labs, washrooms and outdoor stair hand rails.
• Furniture moving.
• Housekeeping duties related to paint work.
• Assisting Building Maintenance Operators with office moves, event setups and other tasks as needed.

$19.22 hourly

Applicants should have some commercial painting experience, including minor drywall repair and must be physically capable of performing the duties of the job which may include working at heights and moderate lifting.

The successful candidate must be able to maintain effective working relationships with the University’s staff and the general public.

Successful candidates must have excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to manage their time to complete assigned tasks.

A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
