Environmental Services Worker at St. Michael's

Maintain cleanliness and safety in St. Michael's Health Centre as an Environmental Services Worker II. This position includes various cleaning tasks and waste management.

As an Environmental Services Worker II, you will report to the Supervisor for Environmental Services and Hospitality, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all. Your responsibilities include routine cleaning, floor and carpet maintenance, furniture transport, and handling of hazardous waste. You will also assist in training new staff and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and compassion in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of floors and carpets

• Transport and store biochemical and hazardous chemical waste

• Assist with set-up and transport of furniture and equipment

• Participate in departmental meetings and training

• Maintain cleanliness in patient and visitor areas

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent education

• Excellent communication skills in English

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods

• Previous cleaning experience preferred

• Valid Criminal Records Check required
