EFS‑Plastics Alberta Inc., is a successful, growing recycling company that recovers plastic from residential recycling programs. Your detergent bottles, milk jugs, and plastic bags all end up at EFS, where they are transformed into plastic resin pellets that are used to make new products. Our fully automated processes divert mixed plastics from ending up in landfills, not only reducing waste but also conserving resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
POSITIONOVERVIEW
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Extruder Operator will primarily be responsible for maintaining extruders efficiently and safely. They will also be responsible for completing quality tests using tools provided, and housekeeping daily of plant floor to maintain safe and organized working conditions.
REQUIREMENTS- Previous experience working in manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Mechanical, equipment and process knowledge.
- Forklift, Health & Safety, and First Aid certificate.
- Positive attitude and engaged in work.
- Open and adaptable to daily feedback on performance.
- Able to plan, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
- Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual and dependable
- Maintain and run extruders efficiently and safely.
- Quality testing using measuring tools provided and in‑house training on use of testing machinery.
- Housekeeping daily of plant floor to maintain safe, organized working conditions.
- Monitor fully automated extruder processing lines.
- Perform frequent quality checks on products.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.
- Assist with some mechanical repairs.
- Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
- Notify the shift lead or management with any equipment related issues.
- Assist in the training of new operators.
- Additional duties as assigned.
