Role DescriptionYou will machine high-precision small parts for mechanical watches using our NS CNC Elara 2 desktop CNC mill. This is hands-on work involving intricate components where attention to detail, tight tolerances, and surface finish are critical.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, program, and operate the NS CNC Elara 2 (3 or 4-axis configuration) for small-part production
- Create and optimize toolpaths in Fusion 360 CAM for complex, miniature watch components
- Perform precision machining on small-scale parts (experience with watchmaking-scale or micro-machining preferred)
- Ensure high-quality finishes, accurate tolerances, and efficient production runs
- Collaborate on design refinements using Fusion 360 (CAD/CAM) as needed
- Proven experience machining small, intricate parts (watchmaking, jewelry, micro-machining, or similar highly preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360, particularly CAM for CNC programming and toolpath generation
- Hands-on experience with desktop or precision CNC mills (direct experience with the NS CNC Elara 2 is a significant asset)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict quality standards
- Located in or willing to work on-site in Lethbridge, Alberta (no remote option)
- Competitive hourly or contract rate (commensurate with experience)
- 1-month temporary role starting as soon as possible
- Clear pathway to a full-time position for the right candidate
