General Labour – Taber, AB
We are looking for dedicated, hard‑working individuals to join our General Labour team, performing a variety of tasks that keep our plant running smoothly. The position works a 12‑hour compressed week (7PM–7AM) and includes opportunities for advancement.
Job Responsibilities- Inspect and sort raw and frozen products; remove foreign material and notify supervisor immediately.
- Inspect finished product cases for rework, and flag any issues.
- Perform cleanup, sanitation, and housekeeping duties using designated equipment.
- Operate process equipment: load/unload materials onto pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks; assist packaging operators.
- Assist as a fire‑watch attendant and attend required safety training courses.
- Strip out product and operate bulk blend back equipment when directed.
- Perform snow removal and support field sampling activities.
- Maintain safe work practices, participate in daily safety engagement, and follow the company Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out policy.
- Complete, maintain, and sign required documentation for verification purposes.
- Communicate with process operators, sanitation leaders, and supervisors as needed.
- Execute additional duties assigned by supervisor.
- High‑school education or equivalent.
- Minimum one‑month related work experience or training.
- Valid Canadian work authorization.
- Good physical stamina; ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 100lb in an often fast‑paced environment.
- Valid WHMIS certification (training provided by the company).
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and MSDS sheets.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working in wet, humid, or noisy conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle repetitive tasks.
Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and climbing; frequent handling of materials up to 100lb.
Environment: Wet or humid conditions, exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles; occasional high and outdoor work; loud noise levels.
