Material Handler
About the role
As a key intermediary bridging procurement and production, the Aerospace Stockroom Clerk ensures that high-value space and aviation components, raw materials, and chemical inventory are seamlessly managed. This position is strictly accountable for inventory accuracy, meticulous tracking, and precise part kitting, guaranteeing that production lines receive the exact materials required without damage or delay.
Responsibilities- Material Receiving & Logging:
Receive incoming materials cleared by Quality Assurance (QA) and promptly log all receiving information in the primary stockroom-receiving database. - Secure Material Staging:
Transfer high-value components safely to their designated storage bins and optimized warehouse stock locations. - Precision Kitting & Requisition s:
Pull components accurately from inventory using Bills of Materials (BOMs), prepare material kits for specific work orders, and release them to respective production departments. - Fulfillment & ERP Processing:
Package flight‑critical parts securely and systematically execute material releases within the company ERP software before delivery to the manufacturing floor. - Inter‑Division Logistics:
Prepare, pack, and document specialized parts for secure transport to external manufacturing divisions as per stockroom plan. - Inventory Auditing & Shortage Control:
Execute routine cycle counts and physical stock audits, investigate system discrepancies, and monitor reorder point via the ERP system to eliminate part shortages. - Annual Year‑End Inventory Attendance:
Provide mandatory, full availability and support for the comprehensive year‑end physical inventory audit conducted during the final week of July. - 5S Workspace Maintenance:
Maintain a pristine, organized, and clean workspace daily to meet strict aerospace safety and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention standards. - Hazardous Storage & Material Quarantine:
Adhere strictly to aviation/space quality standards when handling hazardous substances like chemicals and sealants, and isolate non‑compliant or defective parts in designated quarantine zones.
Education:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
1 to 3+ years in a manufacturing environment, logistics, or inventory management role, preferably within an aviation or other manufacturing setting.
Technical
Skills:
Basic computer proficiency and experience navigating inventory management or MRP/ERP systems are essential.
Soft Skills:
Extreme attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities, and good communication skills to work closely with program management and other personnel within the organization.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without employer sponsorship and must be able to obtain CGP registration.
