Operations Supervisor

Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and food service markets. We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Supervisor at our Lethbridge, AB location.

• Supervise daily operations within the Oilseed Processing area, including the direct oversight of unionized employees.
• Achieve the department’s goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety, and Company regulations.
• Implement operational procedures effectively to ensure the daily production schedule is executed safely, with minimal non-conformance and business interruptions.
• Provide effective leadership to department teams and contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Administer the time and attendance payroll system in compliance with Company Policy and the Collective Agreement.
• Participate in team meetings, workshops, and the development of departmental goals and objectives.
• Be part of the "on-call" rotation for after-hours support.

• Post-secondary education or a minimum of 4-5 years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in oilseed/food processing within a unionized environment
• Experience implementing policy & procedures
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislative requirement
• Excellent written, verbal, documentation, and computer skills
• Capable of conducting conflict resolution and disciplinary meetings
• Proficient in coaching and mentoring team members
• Strong time management skills
