Registered Nurse

Your opportunity to become an RN in a General Medicine Unit at Chinook Regional Hospital. This role is suitable for someone with strong interest in acute medicine.

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse who truly believes in patient and family centered care and enjoys working on a unit that strives to be supportive, caring and fun. 4C is a 34‑bed medical unit specializing in the care of acute medicine patients. The candidate must work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient and family focused nursing care, working to full scope of practice with critical thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

• Provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations while ensuring safety and well‑being.
• Utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, and teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
• Play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.
• Provide protected, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP) certification.
• If not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1‑4) and GenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.

• PD training and stroke experience.

Provisional Permit holders will be paid $ to $ per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article or (ii), as applicable.
