Outreach Worker

Position: Outreach Worker with City
Join the City of Lethbridge as an Outreach Worker focused on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. Engage with the community and provide essential services through a trauma-informed approach.

This entry-level position is suitable for candidates with a passion for community and social development. Working alongside the Community Social Development team, you will provide critical outreach support to vulnerable populations. Responsibilities include wellness checks, referrals to services, and building rapport with individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct wellness checks in collaboration with Outreach Specialists

• Engage individuals using trauma-informed, person-centered techniques

• Provide accurate referrals and explain community services

• Maintain presence during outreach deployments and encampment responses

• Document participant interactions in the Client Information Management System

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Demonstrated experience with marginalized populations

• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills

• Basic computer skills for documentation purposes

• Valid Alberta class 5 driver's license required
