Community Group Home Support Worker

Make a meaningful impact at Closer to Home Community Services as a Support Worker in Coaldale, Alberta. Use the Teaching Family Model to assist children and youth in a nurturing environment.

This full-time role focuses on daily support for children and youth in a community group home. You will engage in structured activities, manage crises, and help with educational tasks while fostering well-being in a holistic manner. Working collaboratively with a dedicated team, you'll play a significant role in nurturing growth and belonging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily activities, appointments, and routines

• Implement skill development and crisis management strategies

• Support academic, recreational, and community inclusion

• Promote mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being

• Complete household tasks such as cooking and cleaning

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in a related field preferred

• Experience with vulnerable children and families

• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License

• Completion of a Police Information Check

• Exceptional communication skills and positive approach
