Duties
Responsibilities will include:
- Assemble, install, program, control, and maintain robotic and automated systems used in agricultural environments.
- Integrate sensors with robotic systems and troubleshoot the resulting hardware and software interfaces.
- Configure, integrate, deploy, and test vision-guided robotic systems.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, presentations, and publications.
- Order supplies and equipment and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary research projects and assist in prototype fabrication and system validation.
- Support field trials in barns, research farms, greenhouses and processing facilities.
Intent of the process
The immediate need is to staff one full-time indeterminate position in Lethbridge, Alberta. A written exam may be administered; an interview may be conducted for successful candidates and references will be validated. In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, they may be considered for acting, deployment, indeterminate, assignment or secondment opportunities.

Education- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, automation, instrumentation, computer engineering technology, robotics, or another field relevant to the duties of the position, or an acceptable combination of training, education, and experience.
