AboutThe Role
As the Kitchen Manager, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, manage inventory, supervise food preparation, maintain quality standards, and lead a talented culinary team to deliver a top-notch dining experience.
What You’ll Do- Oversee and coordinate all kitchen activities, ensuring food is prepared and served according to Uncle Giuseppe's recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Maintain and monitor kitchen inventory, placing orders based on menu needs and business demand.
- Partner with department managers to develop menu items, set pricing, and determine portion sizes.
- Schedule shifts based on business needs, holidays, and special events.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Conduct regular inventories and implement measures to minimize waste.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Oversee all food safety, inventory, and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure food is stored, labeled, and handled according to proper safety standards.
- Monitor product quality and consistency throughout the day.
- Enforce food safety compliance among all team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 35 years of experience managing a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Safety Certification required.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
- Regular bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs. (with assistance for heavier items).
- Exposure to varying temperatures from ovens, coolers, and freezers.
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and sharp equipment.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
