Senior Accountant

Position:
Senior Accountant (Interim/Contract)

Location: Levittown, PA (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Compensation: $30–$45 per hour
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: Interim coverage while a permanent Accounting Manager search is underway; temp-to-perm conversion possible for the right candidate

The Senior Accountant will report to the Divisional Controller and provide hands‑on support for transactional accounting activities. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and assisting with the preparation of consolidated financial statements.

• Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Manage cash deposits and execute 3‑way matching
• Support month‑end close activities and prepare general ledger entries
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and lease subsidiary ledgers
• Prepare, file, and schedule sales tax payments
• Reconcile bank accounts, including cash, credit cards, and loans
• Assist in preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements
• Analyze and validate financial data, ensuring accuracy and completion
• Develop and implement accounting procedures, recommending process improvements
• Provide information and support to external auditors
• Take ownership of legacy data and processes, demonstrating initiative and reliability

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; equivalent hands‑on experience (15–20+ years) will be considered
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to work with antiquated or custom accounting systems (AMS/homegrown)
• Experience in distribution or manufacturing environments is highly desirable
• Demonstrated work ethic, independence, and proactive approach to problem‑solving
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting
