Veterinary Assistant – Emergency Department

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their fast‑paced emergency department at our Levittown, PA Hospital.

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive and assist the DVM with crafting and reviewing estimates as needed.
• Perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork, etc.) and set up patients in ICU or the inpatient ward.
• Discharge patients and handle client communication.
• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations, including pharmacology and IV fluid therapy.
• Perform phlebotomy and physical exams, accurately recording vital signs and physical findings.
• Assist with anesthesia/monitoring for patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
• Maintain proficiency in R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate CPR skills as assigned by the supervising clinician.

• Basic medical math proficiency.
• Experience with IV fluid therapy and anesthesia monitoring.
