Shift: Sunday – Monday, 4:30 PM – 5:00 AM and Tuesday – Wednesday, 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM.
Role
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician 2 is an essential asset to our team with over three years of experience in manufacturing or distribution facilities. They ensure smooth facility operation by performing repairs and inspections on conveyors, ASRS, Auto‑baggers, sortation systems, plumbing, lighting and mechanical systems.
- Assist in installation, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs and modifications of conveyor, electrical, building and mechanical systems on facilities or automation equipment.
- Provide recommendations on equipment upgrades, analyse operation parameters of equipment and support zero unscheduled downtime.
- Apply technical and maintenance experience to improve and maintain both short‑ and long‑term facilities and automation equipment.
- Maintain validated parameters and CMMS during equipment operation, permitting timely release of orders and meeting quality control specifications.
- Recommend improvements in productivity, efficiency, cost control and product quality through equipment‑related recommendations.
- Follow SOPs and related documents, supporting maintenance and operation of equipment under the guidance of Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
- Partner with the maintenance team to implement methods that maximise the reliability of production and/or facilities equipment.
- Monitor and control equipment in assigned areas to ensure operation within written SOP/CMMS guidelines.
- Document all inspections, maintenance and repair work and failures using our CMMs.
- Assess semi‑complex product/equipment performance and recommend modifications and improvements.
- Assist in monitoring daily performance of production and/or facilities equipment.
- Identify equipment failures affecting performance and recommend corrective action.
- Compile weekly and/or monthly reports to identify results related to operational standards.
- Ensure equipment operation, maintain CMMS and retain required documentation.
- Be available for emergency callbacks and flexible toward daily start schedule and overtime requirements, including holidays and plant shutdowns.
- Adhere to all safety codes and practices for self and others throughout the plant.
- Participate in semi‑complex maintenance tasks, equipment trial runs, investigative tests, troubleshooting, repairs and overhauls.
- Support less experienced technicians on semi‑complex products, operations and services, performing maintenance on tools, test equipment and software packages.
- Work closely with facilities support and housekeeping teams to coordinate and execute all necessary maintenance support tasks promptly.
- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or 1–2 years of vocational technical training preferred.
- Strong PC skills including Outlook, Excel and software navigation for programming.
- Minimum of 3+ years related maintenance/facilities experience in welding, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, forklifts, building construction, scanners and automation.
- Requires 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience and/or trade equivalent in HVAC, electrical, automation support, pneumatics, plumbing, schematics and CMMS utilisation.
- Ability to interpret and understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment schematics.
- Ability to partner and support third‑party vendors on site.
- Knowledge and experience in industrial equipment mechanics.
- Ability to identify problems and articulate resolution.
- Ability to safely operate motorised equipment.
- Comprehend and follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Stand and walk throughout a shift.
- Climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl for extended periods.
- Reach, pull, push and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 50 pounds.
