Adecco are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of East Sussex County Council for a Business Administrator to join a busy and supportive statutory service based at County Hall, Lewes.

    County Hall, Lewes
  • Working Arrangements:
    Hybrid Working after initial 2 week training period (which will be fully on site)
  • Temporary Assignment (Up to 12 Weeks)
  • 13.09 per hour PAYE
About the Role

This is a busy and rewarding position requiring strong organisational skills, resilience, and the ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, schools, and external professionals.

Some calls may involve speaking with distressed or frustrated customers, so candidates must be confident managing sensitive conversations whilst maintaining a calm and professional approach.

You will be joining an experienced team of Business Administrators and Senior Business Administrators who provide essential support to children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing front-line telephone support and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Handling enquiries from parents, schools, and external professionals.
  • Processing Education, Health and Care Needs (EHCN) applications within statutory and internal timescales.
  • Gathering information from educational settings and professional agencies to support assessment processes.
  • Processing and recording Annual Review documentation for children and young people with EHCPs.
  • Preparing and collating documentation bundles for Local Authority decision-making.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • Supporting the wider administration team with a range of business support duties.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous administrative experience within a busy office environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with distressed or challenging callers.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GDPR principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
