Project Manager, Construction Manager​/ Foreman

About the role

Balfour Beatty Living Places is looking for a Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of highways maintenance and third-party works projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and operational teams to manage projects from inception through to completion while driving continuous improvement and supporting long-term contract growth.

• Lead the safe delivery of highways maintenance and third-party works projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
• Manage programmes of work, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor resources to meet operational demands.
• Oversee projects from planning through to completion and handover.
• Monitor project performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support winter maintenance and service delivery activities when required.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all company and statutory requirements.
• Provide clear communication and direction to operational teams and project stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience with in highways maintenance, civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong operational and project delivery knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs, KPIs, and service levels.
• Experience managing programmes of work and coordinating multiple priorities.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to lead and motivate teams while building collaborative working relationships.
• The ability to interpret drawings and technical information.
• A proactive and flexible approach to project delivery
