Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: East Grinstead & Surrounding Areas

Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time – Flexible Days

Daily Rate: £89.05 – £110

Hours: School hours (typically 08:30 – 15:30)

We’re seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to work with pupils in primary and secondary schools across East Grinstead. This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference by helping children regulate their emotions, stay engaged in learning, and build the confidence they need to thrive.

• Providing 1:1 or small-group behaviour support to pupils with SEMH or additional needs
• Helping students remain focused, calm, and positively involved in school activities
• Supporting teachers with routines, classroom management, and behaviour strategies
• Encouraging positive behaviour choices and promoting emotional resilience
• Creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels supported and understood
• Adapting to different school settings and individual pupil requirements

• Experience working with children or young people (education, care, SEN, youth work, etc.)
• A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
• Confidence supporting challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
• A genuine desire to help children grow, learn, and reach their potential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
