Teacher - AL English; Drama

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of A Level English to join our high-performing curriculum team. You will be part of a collaborative and ambitious department committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning, where creativity, academic rigour, and student success are at the heart of everything we do. This exciting role will include:

• Delivering high-quality teaching across A Level English (Literature and/or Language), ensuring strong student outcomes
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills
• Monitoring student progress and providing timely, impactful feedback and support
• Contributing to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and the wider life of the department

If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you:

• A relevant degree in English or a closely related discipline
• A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• Experience of teaching A Level English with a strong track record of student achievement
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for motivating and supporting young people
• For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with no/limited teaching experience. We are able to offer teacher development & qualifications to enable teaching success.

We would be particularly interested to hear from applicants that have additional experience with A Level Drama, who may be able to support the potential to develop the course ready for a 2027 return.

College location:
Based at our Lewes Campus.

Annual salary:
Circa £30,000 - £42,000 Full Time Equivalent (£8100 - £11300 Actual.)

(Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours:
Part Time – 10 Hours/52.14 weeks
