We are seeking a SENCO who:
· Is passionate about inclusion and firmly believes that every child can succeed.
· Shares our conviction that getting it right for our most vulnerable learners leads to better outcomes for all children.
· Has a good understanding of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice and current inclusive practices.
· Can lead and champion high-quality SEND provision across the school.
· Works collaboratively with staff, parents, external agencies and the wider community to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
· Is able to support, coach and develop colleagues, recognising that inclusion is everyone's responsibility.
· Has high expectations for all pupils and is committed to removing barriers to learning.
· Uses accurate assessment and analysis to identify needs, monitor progress and evaluate the impact of provision.
· Can balance strategic leadership with practical day-to-day support for pupils and staff.
· Builds positive, trusting relationships with children and families, particularly those facing challenges.
· Is an effective communicator, able to advocate confidently for pupils with SEND.
· Is reflective, resilient and committed to continuous professional development.
· Will contribute positively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape the strategic direction of the school.
· Demonstrates warmth, compassion and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child feels valued, included and able to thrive. Most importantly, we are looking for a leader who sees inclusion not as an additional responsibility, but as the foundation of an excellent school. What We Can Offer
· A strong and unwavering commitment to inclusion and high-quality SEND provision.
· A culture where supporting children with additional needs is everyone's responsibility.
· A highly respected SENCO who is a full member of the Senior Leadership Team and plays a key role in shaping school improvement.
· A collaborative staff team that works together to secure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
· A clear belief that excellence for our most vulnerable pupils leads to excellence for every child.
· Ongoing opportunities for professional development and growth within an inclusive school community. We recognise that excellent SENCOs come from a range of professional backgrounds and experiences.
If you have the passion, commitment and values to champion inclusion, we would be delighted to hear from you, even if you are at an earlier stage in your leadership journey.
We are committed to developing talent and can offer mentoring, support and professional development for the right candidate.
The SENCO qualification is desirable but not essential; if not already held, the successful applicant will be supported to achieve it within their first two years of appointment.
