Air Quality Consultant
Location:
Brighton (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office)
Salary: £28,000-£32,000 DOE
Penguin Recruitment is working with a forward-thinking environmental consultancy that is seeking an Air Quality Consultant to join their growing team in Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant with 1-2 years' experience who is keen to develop their career while working on projects that directly contribute to cleaner air and healthier communities.
You will be involved in a range of air quality assessments, with a particular focus on road traffic developments, supporting planning applications and delivering high-quality technical work in line with current guidance and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake air dispersion modelling, primarily for road traffic schemes
Analyse monitoring and modelling data to assess air quality impacts
Prepare clear, well-structured technical reports and client-facing documentation
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
Ensure all work aligns with IAQM guidance and relevant legislation
Support the development of practical mitigation strategies to improve air quality
About You
1-2 years' experience within air quality consultancy or a related discipline
Proven hands-on experience with air dispersion modelling, particularly traffic-related models
Member of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM)
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident written and verbal communication skills
Genuine interest in environmental sustainability and air quality improvement
