The Opportunity
Advance TRS is representing a specialist water consultancy that is looking to appoint Intermediate, Senior and Principal Wastewater Network Modellers to strengthen its UK modelling team.
This is an opportunity to join a technically focused business working on a range of challenging wastewater modelling projects, with a strong emphasis on technical quality, innovation and developing more efficient approaches to hydraulic modelling.
The successful candidates will work alongside experienced modelling specialists and have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of wastewater projects, while benefiting from access to wider international expertise and best practice.
The business is particularly interested in individuals with strong hands-on Info Works ICM experience who are looking to develop their technical expertise and progress their careers within a specialist modelling environment.
The Role
Responsibilities will vary depending on experience and seniority, but may include:
Building, calibrating, validating and maintaining wastewater network models using Info Works ICM.
Undertaking model verification and historical validation.
Using modelling outputs to understand network performance and identify risks.
Supporting root cause analysis and solution development.
Developing and assessing practical, cost-effective and buildable solutions for wastewater networks.
Providing technical input into project delivery and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
Reviewing and quality-checking modelling outputs, appropriate to level of experience.
Working with clients and project stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate modelling outcomes.
Supporting and, at more senior levels, leading technical discussions with clients and project teams.
Providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
Contributing to the development and improvement of modelling processes, specifications and best practice.
Supporting innovation and the adoption of new technologies, automation and digital approaches within wastewater modelling.
Managing technical and project delivery risks at the appropriate level of responsibility.
Developing TOTEX-focused solutions that consider cost, risk, performance and operational requirements.
Technical Focus
The team is involved in a broad range of wastewater network modelling activities, with opportunities to develop experience across areas including:
Wastewater network model build and verification.
Hydraulic modelling and root cause analysis.
Solution development and optioneering.
Network performance and capacity assessments.
Water quality modelling.
2D modelling.
Real-time modelling.
Model auditing and assurance.
Digital transformation and modelling automation.
Development of innovative modelling tools and processes.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop specialist modelling expertise rather than simply undertaking routine modelling work.
