Job Summary

Part Time Pharmacy Assistant at HMP Lewes, a Category B/C prison in Sussex. The male prison has a capacity of 742 inmates and requires support with pharmacy duties such as labelling, stock taking, checking, collections, and dispensing of prescriptions.

0730 – 1630, 3 days per week (22.5 hours). Annual salary up to £29,837 per annum (Full Time Equivalent), pro‑rata for the 22.5 hours.

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Act as an active member of the pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing‑based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers at the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns
• Participate in the dispensing of prescriptions

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent, or working towards it)
• Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent

• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
