We are seeking a skilled Data centre Engineer.

With a strong mechanical and technical background to support the customisation and deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high-performance and data centre environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data centres.

This role will be based in our Hatfield Integration Centre working closely with our Operational, consultancy & infrastructure teams. Role :

ASAP until Sep'26 Pay Rates:
Umbrella Rate: £19.33/hour (via a Hays approved umbrella company). PAYE Basic Rate: £14.90/hour

Hours:

37.5 hours a week. Monday - Friday. Timings : 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities Rack and stack of active network hardware, switches, routers & servers Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet. Installing power and data connection cables within server & networking racks. Follow instructions and provide on-site support to remote network and systems administrators. Read & follow Rack Elevation Diagrams Supported day-to-day server and network operations for HSBC Performed data patching between Cisco, IBM, HP, and Apple hardware Built cabinets, installed power racking, and managed rack layouts Conducted cable migration involving copper, coaxial, and fibre Rack and stack of active network hardware, switches, routers & servers Apply basic IP addressing under instructions/directions.

Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet. Apply basic IP addressing under instructions/directions. Installing and configuring UPS systems (Desirable) Collaborate with engineering, project management, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely deployments. Follow all safety procedures, industry standards, and environmental guidelines during field operations. Qualifications Must be very familiar with working in a Data Centre Good understanding of various Structured Cabling Solutions Capable of installing & Testing Fibre Optic cables Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and high attention to detail.

Comfortable performing hands-on technical work. OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certification preferred but not required.
