The Role

We are seeking a visionary and highly collaborative Brand Director to lead the development and execution of Ancient + Brave’s brand strategy and creative expression. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping how the brand shows up in the world - emotionally, visually, and culturally - while ensuring consistency, clarity, and impact across all touchpoints.

The Brand Director will own brand strategy and oversee creative execution, with direct leadership of the Creative Studio and Brand Execution team. Working in close partnership with the Founder who is our Creative visionary and often wears the Creative Director hat and the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will help turn bold creative ideas into world-class campaigns, storytelling, and brand experiences.

This role requires someone who is both strategically rigorous and creatively fluent - equally comfortable setting long-term brand direction and getting hands-on to bring ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Brand Strategy & Vision
  • Define and evolve Ancient + Brave’s long-term brand strategy, ensuring it aligns with the founders  vision, business objectives and cultural relevance.
  • Safeguard brand positioning, tone of voice, visual identity, and narrative across all channels and markets.
  • Translate brand strategy into clear creative direction and actionable frameworks for teams and partners.
  • Identify opportunities for brand growth, innovation, and differentiation in a competitive wellness landscape.
  • Creative Leadership & Execution
  • Lead and inspire the Creative Studio, Social Media + Community and Brand Execution teams to deliver high-quality, on-brand creative work at pace and within a tightly managed budget.
  • Oversee the strategic and creative development of integrated campaigns, product launches, and storytelling across digital, retail, packaging, PR, advertising and community.
  • Act as a senior creative partner to the Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, collaborating closely on ideation, concepts, and campaign development.
  • Balance creative ambition with commercial effectiveness, ensuring work delivers both emotional impact and measurable results.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Build a strong, trusted working relationship with the Founder, respecting and amplifying their creative vision while bringing structure, clarity, and momentum.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Commercial Officer to ensure brand strategy supports commercial growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
  • Work cross-functionally with Nutrition + Innovation, Marketing, Digital and Operations to ensure brand coherence and excellence end-to-end.
  • Manage and brief external agencies, freelancers, and production partners as required.
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing multi-disciplinary teams fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and excellence.
