Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Head of Service to join a NHS Trust on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This role is working 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of clinical services.
* Work with the divisional leadership team to deliver operational performance against national and local targets.
* Lead on service planning, transformation, pathway redesign and continuous improvement.
* Oversee operational performance, quality, safety, workforce and financial objectives.
* Develop and implement recovery plans where performance or service delivery requires improvement.
* Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention, talent management and succession planning.
* Provide leadership and support to managers and multidisciplinary teams across the Care Group.
* Work collaboratively with clinical teams to support patient flow, discharge planning and effective use of resources.
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix and workforce planning across services.
* Manage budgets, resource utilisation and productivity, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost improvement.
* Lead and support quality improvement programmes, using data, patient feedback and evidence to drive measurable improvements.
* Support GIRFT and Model Hospital improvement programmes across relevant services.
* Develop business cases, bids, service plans and performance reports as required.
* Manage operational risks, complaints, incidents and service issues, ensuring appropriate action and learning.
Requirements:
* Significant experience in a senior leadership or operational management position within healthcare.
* Experience of operational management of clinical services.
* Strong knowledge of NHS performance standards, operational requirements and current healthcare developments.
* Proven experience of strategic planning, service delivery and service improvement.
