Diversity Resource International (DRI) is a Sussex-based non-profit community development organisation dedicated to empowering ethnic minorities and migrant communities. We delivercommunity development programmes, community-led research, leadership and enterprise support, and training for equity and inclusion. Working in partnership with communities and stakeholders, we centre lived experience, generate evidence for change, and co-create solutions that respond to real needs. Our approach is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in social justice.

We are seeking a dedicated Admin Volunteer for a hybrid role based in Lewes. The role requires 5 hours of commitment per week. The Admin Volunteer role is an opportunity to develop skills in providing administrative support, maintaining records, handling correspondence, and assisting with daily organisational tasks.

What are we looking for?

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office or equivalent office applications.

This is a part-time on-site position for an Events Volunteer located around Sussex. The volunteer will assist in organising and setting up various events, ensuring smooth execution and active participation. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience, coordinate event logistics, set up event venues, liaise with participants and vendors, and make public speeches about DRI's mission, goal, activities and vision at network events to potential partners.

Desk Research Volunteer Description

This is a part-time hybrid role for a Desk Research Volunteer. The role is an opportunity to develop skills in gathering and analysing data, which relates to DRI’s programs and the needs of the communities served. Main responsibilities include researching community demographics, best practices, and reviewing reports related to DRI’s research priorities. The role may also involve transcribing interviews and creating data visualisations.

This position will support DRI in highlighting the need for community organisations that serve ethnic minorities in Sussex and in improving the efficiency of its research process.

  • Report writing and organisational skills to compile and present findings effectively
  • Interest in community development and familiarity with the challenges faced by minority and migrant groups

This is a part-time, hybrid role for a Fundraising Volunteer. The Fundraising Volunteer role is an opportunity to develop skills in planning and researching fundraising opportunities and maintaining supporter relationships. Due to new organisational development at DRI, the volunteer will get the opportunity to work on income generation and diversification. Tasks will include supporting grant applications, SWOT analysis of relevant DRI grants, background research to identify the priorities of funders, programme design, and identifying a SMART plan of action.

Time Period

Each role requires a commitment of 4 months.

An average of 5 hours per week.
