Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures in accordance with the established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
Responsibilities- Review consultation request, checking for special instructions from the requesting physician and consult with the Radiologist or referring physician's office as necessary.
- Greet patients pleasantly, confirm their identification and introduce yourself.
- Explain the examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
- Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment located within the MRI department.
- Prepare and administer contrast media for injection and review all pertinent forms.
- Perform MRI procedures according to established protocols.
- Maintain a daily activities log.
- Ensure appropriate storage and ordering of supplies.
- Monitor and report supplies in shortage and special order items.
- Perform visual preventive safety inspections and conduct quality assurance tests on all equipment with regards to ACR regulations.
- Identify any problems and communicate to the immediate supervisor.
- Evaluate recorded images for technical quality.
- Demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper positioning.
- Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
- Complete needed follow-up documentation such as contrast reaction forms, extravasation reports and Safety Tracking Tools.
- Demonstrate telephone etiquette.
- Coordinate scheduling with other departments to ensure patient flow.
- Assist scheduling clerks with non‑routine exams decisions.
- Order exams, track patient data, scan documents and make copies of exams as requested.
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
- Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of Department Orientation.
- Ability to lift patients up to 50lbs.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
- Advanced registry in MRI is required.
- Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
- Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
- Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
- Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors
- Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
- ARRT-MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification (American Heart Association)
- Associates Degree in related field
Entry: USD $31.83/Hr.
Max: USD $49.34/Hr.
