OverviewWorks in the Microbiology laboratory under the supervision of Medical Laboratory Scientists, assisting with some elements of clinical testing and set up, maintenance, inventory and other general duties.
ResponsibilitiesWipe down all hoods and countertops and document. Check all temperatures and alert tech if readings out of range. Check Sub chocolate QC organisms. Enter Concentration/Grinding Charges in Cerner. Stock benches/areas with all supplies. Check supply of Thio Broth and prepare more if necessary. Discard old specimens. Perform minor equipment maintenance as required. Perform daily maintenance on BacT/Alert, ePlex, Gene Xpert, Microscan.
Set up Microscan panels as they are ready. Manage and order inventory, put away supplies, rotate stock. Initiate workup for positive blood cultures. Setup cultures and slides, plating onto media. Stain Gram stains. Load specimens on analyzers. Other duties as assigned.
Will consider students currently enrolled in an accredited laboratory science program. Will consider associates and/or bachelor's degree graduates in chemistry or biological sciences.

- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records
Entry: USD $18.50/Hr. Max: USD $28.68/Hr.
