Quality Engineer​/Quality Systems

This role involves responsibilities related to quality systems, liaison between manufacturing and quality, and continuous improvement of quality processes.

• Thorough knowledge of the quality system and application on a daily basis
• Provide technical liaison services between manufacturing and quality on quality system matters, including QA implementation and maintenance
• Identify, track and resolve all quality problems
• Consult with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Evaluate engineering designs to ensure first‑time, superior part quality
• Lead the use of APQP and support PPAPs on new and modified products
• Review prints, specifications, and engineering changes to meet quality reliability requirements (ECN)
• Review and evaluate Control Plans, FMEA, acceptance sampling, and other DCP activities
• Provide Metrology information to Manufacturing and Engineering
• Assist QA personnel with training and support to achieve acceptable quality performance
• Conduct capability and process potential studies (Cp, Cpk, Minitab)
• Coordinate quality problem resolutions with company management
• Participate in all customer, external and internal quality audits
• Review safety and critical characteristics with engineering to agree on specifications
• Lead inspectors and technicians with the quality supervisor in annual capability studies
• Deliver technical customer support and service for assigned accounts
• Lead customer problem‑solving efforts for the area assigned
• Develop IATF cascading documents (process flow, FMEA, control plans, check sheets)
• Support quality hold area and disposition of non‑conforming material
• Follow up with customers on product trials and corrective actions
• Use SPC to communicate and monitor dimensional variation
• Lead prototype efforts to meet customer requirements and pre‑production orders (PPPS)
• Assist the quality manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality System
