Business Support Administrator Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Office Based)

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour PAYE
Working Hours:
9am till 5pm (37 hours per week) Duration:
Till 31 December 2026 About the Role Blackburn with Darwen Council are seeking an organised and proactive Business Support Administrator to join a busy and dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing a varied workload. You will play a key role in ensuring administrative processes run smoothly by coordinating requests, supporting colleagues, and delivering high-quality business support services.
Please note that minute taking is not required for this role .
Key Responsibilities As a Business Support Administrator, your duties will include:
Managing multiple shared mailboxes and responding to a wide range of enquiries and service requests. Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently. Processing invoices and ensuring timely handling of payments. Coordinating interpreter bookings and other service requirements received through shared mailboxes. Arranging travel and accommodation as required. Liaising with internal departments, external providers, and stakeholders to coordinate services. Prioritising and managing multiple tasks within a busy administrative environment.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with administrative procedures. Providing general administrative and business support to the wider team. About You We are looking for someone who is:
Highly organised with excellent time management skills. Able to prioritise competing demands and work effectively under pressure. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Experienced in an administrative or business support role (desirable). Able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment.
