GSL Education are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a secondary school in Lewisham on a long-term basis until the end of the academic year. This role is ideal for a committed History Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons and support strong academic progress.

As a History Teacher
, you will be responsible for teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging critical thinking, historical enquiry, and a deeper understanding of past events. The successful individual will contribute positively to the humanities department and maintain high standards of learning and behaviour.

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Inspire students to develop analytical and evaluative skills
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Create an inclusive and well-structured classroom environment
• Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
• Effective classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities
• An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
