An outstanding all-through SEN school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive environment that prioritises professional development and high-quality SEN provision.
Role Overview:
You will provide support across year groups, working closely with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs. The role includes delivering 1:1 and small group support, implementing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and promoting pupils social, emotional, and academic development. You will collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support strategies.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a patient, calm, and proactive approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Previous experience in an SEN or ASD setting is desirable but not essential for candidates who show commitment and willingness to learn.
