Our Young People & Families Hub delivers integrated support services for complex difficulties faced by young people and their families, including missing from home, emotional, housing or substance misuse, domestic abuse, employment and more.
Redthread is a hospital‑based youth work service working alongside NHS staff and other professionals in emergency departments. Our specialist youth workers engage with and support young people to reduce serious youth violence and provide long‑term, holistic support across health and social needs.
Main Responsibilities Include- Hold a caseload of young people and support them in a range of settings, addressing personal, emotional, educational, health and social development.
- Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to safeguard young people.
- Maintain up‑to‑date case records on our case management system.
- Support the delivery of training to clinicians.
- Significant professional experience working with vulnerable young people across various activities and settings.
- Effective teamwork and experience within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently.
- Thorough knowledge of the physical, social and emotional developmental needs of young people.
- Understanding of issues faced by young people living in inner‑city areas.
- Aware of child protection and safeguarding issues, and current best practice in the youth work sector.
- Knowledge of best practice in case recording.
Permanent
Hours & Work PatternFull time, 37 hours per week, including regular weekend and evening work, with shift patterns covering 9am–9pm.
