Who We Are Looking For:
Every day, Cambia's dedicated team is living our mission to make health care easier and lives better. As a member of the Government Programs team, our Strategic Account Manager-Medicaid will provide dedicated leadership for relationship management, governance, and stakeholder engagement — serving as the critical bridge between Cambia and our state agency partners to ensure the success of our North Dakota Medicaid line of business — all in service of creating a person-focused health care experience.
Do you thrive in a complex, matrixed environment where strong relationships and strategic communication drive meaningful outcomes? Are you passionate about building trusted partnerships with state agencies while aligning internal teams around shared commitments? Then this role may be the perfect fit.
What You Bring to Cambia:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Marketing and 10 years of health plan and/or account management experience, including experience servicing large group accounts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Attributes:
Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic account relationships, both directly with customers and on their behalf with internal stakeholders, including experience working with government or state agency partners
Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid managed care programs and experience building trusted relationships with state Medicaid agencies, regulators, and other key stakeholders while managing contractual commitments and strategic priorities. Demonstrated experience leading collaborative strategic planning, developing supporting documentation, creating financial business cases, and driving operational execution
Ability to balance customer and regulatory partner needs with business realities, skilled at achieving win-win outcomes through a partnership and collaborative approach
Knowledge of industry trends in healthcare, including Medicaid programs, as well as federal and state legislative and regulatory issues
Experience developing and delivering effective, relevant presentations to customers, state agency partners, and internal stakeholders at all levels
Proven ability to manage escalations, proactively identify risks, and develop contingency plans that protect both external relationships and internal execution
Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making in professional settings highly desired
Strong communication skills, both externally and internally, with the ability to achieve goals through influence, advocacy, and bringing colleagues together across a highly matrixed organization
What You Will Do at Cambia:
Provide dedicated leadership for state relations, stakeholder engagement, and governance responsibilities required to operate a successful North Dakota Medicaid line of business, maintaining strong partnerships with state agencies and ensuring regulatory confidence
Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholder relationships, complementing the Operations Manager's focus on operational performance, compliance, and day-to-day execution to establish a sustainable and high-performing operating model
