LC State invites applications for the position of Budget Analyst.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $57,000 - $62,000

Degree Requirement

Bachelor's degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in finance and/or budgeting.
  • Excellent ability to organize, plan, and manage complex projects along with a proven ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power

    BI).
  • Involvement in an environment that requires maintaining confidentiality of information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
  • Experience in an institution of higher education.
  • Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Finance module.
  • Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for management/administrators.
Responsibilities
  • Establish the processes for development of the budget and assure those processes are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparation of tentative, interim, and final budget submissions for the State within established guidelines; review expenditures for programs to ensure proper budget compliance, with specialization in Gen Ed (Fund 10) and CTE (Fund 12).
  • Responsibility for general accounting, including assisting with the institutional budget process, budget to actual analysis, account reconciliation review and journal entry preparation.
  • Foundation financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Assist with review of Foundation payroll deduction worksheet.
  • Assist in the formulation and review of internal controls, policy guidelines, and internal forms.
  • Ensure that the College complies with state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
