- The Registered Nurse-Outpatient Services provides direct and indirect nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role supports various ambulatory care services including pre- and post-procedural care, patient education, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Conducts thorough head-to-toe assessments pre- and post-procedure
- Administers medications and IV fluids based on age and clinical condition
- Assesses, manages, and educates patients on pain control techniques
- Monitors cardiac rhythms and recognizes arrhythmias
- Provides support during outpatient procedures, including GI and sedation-based care
- Assists physicians and interdisciplinary team with procedures and care planning
- Implements and maintains aseptic technique and infection control standards
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
- Ensures safe discharge planning and patient education post-procedure
- Participates in staff orientation, training, and quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrates critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
- High degree of organization, attention to detail, and time management
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Adaptability in responding to changing situations and patient needs
- Proficiency in EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and related healthcare technologies
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume environment
- Flexible with work schedule, able to support coverage as needed
- Committed to patient-centered care, professionalism, and ongoing development
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred
- Current state RN license or valid Compact State RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA within time frame specified in facility policy
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within time frame specified in facility policy (depending on patient acuity and facility policy)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within time frame specified in facility policy (depending on patient acuity and facility policy)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within time frame specified in facility policy (depending on patient acuity and facility policy)
- Prior clinical nursing experience in an inpatient or outpatient care setting preferred
