Summary:
Responsible to assist the School Dining Services program as needed.
Salary: $17.31

Responsibilities- Assists in maintaining high standard of nutrition for school dining service program.
- Assists in preparing, cooking and serving meals at assigned school (Breakfast & Lunch).
- Responsible for following all established sanitation procedures.
- Assists in student, money, and meal accountability as required in assigned school.
- Assists in supervision of children during meal service as required in assigned school.
- Responsible for washing and sanitizing food service utensils.
- Can work harmoniously with staff.
- Responsible for correct equipment use and reporting of needed maintenance.
- Can lift and store food and food‑related products.
- Responsible for all other job related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education and ExperienceHigh School graduate or GED equivalent. Training in sanitation, food handling and safety.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with individuals and groups of employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with varying variables where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Ability to use a Personal Computer with database, spreadsheet and word‑processing software. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to sit, talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand and walk. Requires close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
