Position: Registered Nurse – Adult Chemical Dependency UnitLocation: St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, D4 Wing
Unit: Adult Chemical Dependency / Inpatient Behavioral Health / Detox
- Employment History: Cannot be a previous employee of St. Mary’s .
- Flexibility: Must be willing to float to Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health and Detox units .
- Licensure/Background: Travelers with licensure issues or background hits will not be considered .
- Experience: Behavioral Health experience required .
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required
- Competency in restraints and seclusion management (application, monitoring, assessment, and care) must be demonstrated and validated by the employing agency.
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
- Conduct thorough admission interviews and systematic physical assessments .
- Assess needs for other healthcare services and coordinate care.
- Develop, implement, and revise patient care plans .
- Document patient conditions, care provided, and responses .
- Provide patient education and facilitate groups .
- Ages: 15 and older
- Common Diagnoses: Physiological dependency on alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and other drugs.
- Many patients may have co-occurring psychiatric disorders , e.g., depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder.
- Unit operates 24/7 .
