Base pay range: $55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr. The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. Through a combination of base, bonuses, and uncapped commissions, typical total first‑year compensation ranges from $55k to $75k, with potential for top performers to earn over $100k in their first year.
LocationThis is an in‑office position located in South Portland, with surrounding locations required. Remote work is not available.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a Sales Agent who will use a strong local network and in‑person relationship building to grow the agency’s presence.
- Build and maintain a robust local network to develop new business.
- Engage directly with prospects and existing customers in the community.
- Utilize the agency’s product portfolio of Auto, Home, Life and related insurance offerings.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and retention rates.
- Collaborate with team members for leads and support.
- Highly self‑motivated and driven: Resilient, strong work ethic, self‑directed after training, natural leadership, effective time organization.
- Gritty and adaptable: Works well under pressure, adapts to change, owns results.

- Uncapped pay – base salary, bonuses, and renewal commissions.

- Previous sales experience turning prospects into customers.
- State insurance license or willingness to obtain one in Property & Casualty and Life.
- Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven relationship building.
- Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn insurance coverage and underwriting guidelines.
- Experience in finding and growing leads and a customer base.
