• Days:
  Sunday through Thursday

As a Production Operator at Avient, you will set up, operate, and maintain equipment that blends, mixes, and transports chemicals. You will ensure quality, safety, and cost efficiency while supporting Avient’s vision and regulatory compliance.

• Set up, start, and run all machinery
• Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specification and insert into machinery
• Insert pre-blended materials into machinery
• Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation; troubleshoot equipment and processing issues
• Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge, or handle materials
• Take samples of materials to lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed
• Perform all required machine cleaning
• Document work completed as required, including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent training & experience
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; conversions; working with units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc.

• Requires standing and sitting for extended periods; talking and listening
• Must be able to walk, use hands, lift up to 50 pounds; occasional bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
• Frequent communication and understanding of work instructions in a fast-paced environment
• Use of personal protective equipment: safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection
• Exposure to outside weather conditions; extreme heat and humidity; dust or fumes occasionally
