Central Maine Healthcare is looking for a Full Time, Clinical Assistant RN to join the Wound Care team! Responsibilities:
- The RN Clinical Assistant is responsible and accountable for delivering patient care in the physician’s office setting, utilizing the Nursing Process and considering the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and self‑care educational needs of the patient, family, and/or significant others.
- Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills on behalf of Central Maine Medical Group (CMMG) and practices in accordance with CMMG’s Clinical Policies and Procedures while operating within the Maine Nurse Practice Act.
- Acts as the patient’s advocate, manages supplies, equipment and sophisticated instrumentation, promotes teamwork with staff, physicians and personnel in other departments, and supports the values of CMMG.
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the practice, showing initiative, flexibility and responsibility with a minimum of supervision.
- Prioritizes care based on physical and psychosocial needs and factors that affect patient flow.
- Communicates with providers about changes in the patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Wound Care Nurse Responsibilities:
- Accountable for providing comprehensive holistic care using the nursing process to coordinate and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, ostomies, continence issues and other impaired skin integrity.
- Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to deliver care.
- Communicates verbally and in writing to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provides recommendations of treatment to physicians, practitioners and the health‑care team.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in direct patient care, patient and staff education, quality improvement activities, research and administrative duties pursuant to evidence‑based care.
- Maintain accurate and complete work based on organization standards, policies, procedures, HIPAA and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with up to six (6) months Registered Nurse experience.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required; IV certification preferred.
- BSN certification required; WOC certification preferred.
