Registered Nurse RN - Cardiopulmonary
Central Maine Healthcare – Join our Cardiopulmonary Team as a Per Diem RN with flexible scheduling.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide individualized care to pediatric through geriatric patients while collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Obtains nursing history, performs assessment, and develops plan of care for patients.
- Performs head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassesses per policy.
- Prioritizes during high acuity situations and provides age‑specific care.
- Demonstrates knowledge of medications and correct administration for age and clinical condition.
- Follows the five medication rights to reduce potential errors.
- Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical skills.
- Starts peripheral IVs and cares for post‑surgical patients.
- Treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
- Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to nursing leaders and providers.
- Maintains documentation meeting current standards and policies.
- Manages equipment safely and coordinates patient care as necessary.
- Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Engages in professional development through education and workshop participation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse license in Maine; BSN preferred.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS required.
- One year of nursing experience preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to engage patients and team members using CMH Experience Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and triage in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of medication safety and administration.
