About The Role

Low Voltage Technicians perform all tasks required for the installation of a complete structured cabling system in a new or existing construction environment in the State of Maine marketplace.

We are hiring a COMMERCIAL LOW VOLTAGE TELECOM TECHNICIAN for our Lewiston, Maine office.

Sargent Electric’s C&I electrical division specializes in large-scale projects, telecommunications, high voltage distribution, and maintenance. We also offer pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication, and BIM capabilities.

Essential Functions

  • Install structured cabling systems, including CAT 5e, 6, 6a, fiber optic cabling, backbone cabling, pathways, cable support systems, equipment racks, and cross-connects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and industry symbols.
  • Be familiar with network equipment, fiber optics, and Ethernet cabling.

About You

Technician Level I Qualifications

  • Current BICSI Installer Level I Certificate or proven work experience.
  • Certificates in at least two industry-specific manufacturer training courses.
  • Familiarity with CAT 5e, 6, 6a, coax, fiber, and testing equipment.

Technician Level II Qualifications

  • Current BICSI Installer Level II Certificate or proven work experience.
  • Certificates in at least three industry-specific manufacturer training courses.
  • Familiarity with CAT 5e, 6, 6a, coax, fiber, and testing equipment.

Compensation

  • This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Wages depend on experience. Full benefits are provided under the union agreement.
