Advocate role at Youth Advocate Programs, Inc.

Part‑time, hourly position providing mentorship and advocacy for youth and families throughout Lewiston.

Status: Part Time Hourly

Hourly Rate: $21 per hour

Summary: This role teaches youth between 14‑21 years of age about community resources and helps to develop their self‑confidence while keeping them safe. The Advocate initiates, organizes, plans, and implements direct advocacy services for assigned participants and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
  • Initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy services.
  • Use a strength‑based, wrap‑around model when creating service plans.
  • Maintain flexible hours, receive competitive weekly pay, mileage reimbursement ($0.50/mile), and activity reimbursement.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at‑risk youth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Reliable insured transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage.
