Century Companies, Inc., a highly reputable heavy civil, concrete, and asphalt paving contractor based in Lewistown, Montana, is accepting applications for the Asphalt Paving Foreman position.

This position is a first-level supervisor role with responsibility for operating a paving machine screed to lay and compact various types of asphalt materials.

• Demonstrate knowledge of asphalt paving, establishing grade, layout, etc.
• Accurately read plans and specifications and build projects according to them.
• Safely and skillfully operate an asphalt paver screed following all standard equipment procedures to produce a quality road profile and mat.
• Have responsibility for consistency and uniformity of material compaction after being placed by hand or with a paver.
• Assist in managing associated paving equipment such as pickup machines, trucking, rollers, etc.
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with paving staff, supervisors, trucking resources and asphalt plant operations.
• Efficiently operate support equipment such as rollers, skidsteer, backhoe/trackhoe, vibratory compactor, compressor with jackhammer, jumping jack and tamp plate.
• Maintain accurate notes and records of activities.
• Regularly conduct safety meetings, practice workplace safety.
• Complete and submit all paperwork in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and track deliveries of equipment, materials, etc.
• Enforce company and/or client policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations governing the worksite and the environment.
• Assist in performing the work as necessary.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.
• Display an uncompromising focus on safety by properly following company policies and OSHA/MSHA/DOT/DEQ regulations for safe working procedures and protection of the environment.
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Ability to do basic math.
• Must be able to travel in Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
• Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
• Valid Driver's License required;
  Commercial Driver's License helpful.
• Completion of grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• At least 20/40 acuity (Snellen) in each eye with or without correction. At least 70 degrees peripheral in horizontal meridian measured in each eye.
